13U Slowpitch (5th, 6th and 7th Graders)

Commitment: 1 practice, 1 batting cage and 3 games each week (including one doubleheader)

Season: April through end of June

MGSA's in-house league for 5th, 6th and 7th graders is 13U Slowpitch. 

In this league, there is more emphasis on advanced throwing, hitting and fielding skills, as well as learning appropriate reactions to various game situations. Games are fun, fast-paced and competitive, with emphasis on improving skills and player development. Players are encouraged to play a variety of positions. Pitchers must be able to throw 60% strikes or better to pitch in a game.

The 13U Slowpitch league plays games on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings/afternoons at Legacy Fields at Minnetonka High School and Optimist Field in Glen Lake. There may be an occasional Thursday evening or Sunday afternoon game.

Players receive a jersey shirt. Players must provide their own batting helmet (with mask), fielding mask and softball mitt. Gym shoes are fine, plastic cleats are optional. Fielding masks for infielders are required.

We also organize a competitive season-end tournament, which includes MGSA and Glen Lake teams. We also offer competitive travel options which play through the end of July.
